Elk River Park

This 68-acre park offers a boat ramp, pavilion, playground, and parking. All boat trailers must display a permit for the current year. A permit is not required for the launching of kayaks.

Permits are valid for the Elk River Park, Fredericktown, and Stemmer's Run launch sites.

Boat Ramp Permits:

• can be obtained by mail (complete the permit application and mail it to 200 Chesapeake Blvd., Ste. 1200, Elkton, MD 21921 along with payment and a stamped self-addressed envelope),
• by purchasing at the Sassafras Harbor Marina (2 George Street, Georgetown, MD), or by scheduling an appointment at the County Administration Building.
• You can also receive a boat permit at the County Parks and Rec Department located on 17 Wilson Rd., Rising Sun, MD.
• Boat Ramp Permits are $20 and can be paid by cash or check
• There is a $50.00 fine for all boat trailers without a valid sticker.

Pavilions can be rented for birthday parties and family reunions.
