Auburn University Recreation and Wellness Center, often referred to as "The Rec," serves as a dynamic hub for fitness, wellness, sports, and outdoor recreation, catering to students, faculty, and staff. Recognized by Men’s Health magazine as one of the “coolest college recreation centers in America,” The Rec offers an expansive 240,000-square-foot facility that acts as a virtual "backyard" for Auburn students, with convenient access from key campus locations such as the student center and residence halls.

Since opening its doors in 2013, the Recreation and Wellness Center has been a cornerstone of campus life, offering all enrolled students automatic membership, with optional memberships available for faculty, staff, and retirees at a nominal fee. The center’s comprehensive offerings ensure that everyone in the Auburn community has the opportunity to engage in healthy, active lifestyles in a state-of-the-art environment.
