Many clubs and organizations use the Peoples Sports Complex, including MC United Soccer Club, Wausau City Futbol Club, Wausau Area Youth Soccer, Central Wisconsin Adult Soccer, and numerous schools for their games. The Complex has also hosted a lacrosse tournament, bike polo tournament, and the annual Hmong Wausau Festival.

Wausau/Central Wisconsin Sports Authority is the organizer and owner of the following events:
Badger State Games, Red White & Blue 5K Walk/Run, and the  International Wisconsin Ginseng Festival.

The Sports Authority is a function of the Wausau/Central Wisconsin Convention & Visitors Bureau and was created to secure new sports events and major tournaments for the Wausau area.  The Sports Authority is committed to developing long term relationships with events rights holders, sanctioning bodies, and our local sports organizations.

It is the strong local sport organizations and some of the finest sports facilities in the state that keep the competitive spirit thriving in the Wausau area.  With our central location in the state, we can offer an attractive combination of experience, quality facilities, and convenience that has earned the respect of event rights holders and contributed to our success in hosting major sports tournaments in Wisconsin.

The Sports Authority Opportunity Fund is an application process for funding support.  Each application is evaluated for economic benefits to the local community, partnership opportunities, and participation in generated revenues.  

We partner with the Marathon County Parks Department to have use of multiple state of the art facilities.  Our partnership allows us to offer a venue for almost any sport.  We also have partnerships with other additional facilities around the area such as a large indoor field house, bowling center, ski hill, and curling facility.
