Dog Park
​The dog-friendly Barkingham Park features an off-lead area and primitive trails for on-lead walks. During the wet summer months, the off-lead area may have standing water.

Pet Waste that is left uncollected degrades water quality. With an estimated 134,000 dogs and 154,000 cats in Lee County, this results in a lot of waste that washes into our waterways increasing bacteria and nutrients. History
​The football fields were completed in 1994. The baseball fields were completed in 1996. Barkingham Dog Park opened in November 2001. The playground, climbing structures, swings, and large shelter opened in July 2002 and were funded in cooperation with Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program.
