Springdale Race Course is home to Kershaw County's internationally renowned steeplechase race, the Carolina Cup.

A viewing stand on the training grounds welcomes visitors to watch early morning thoroughbred workouts. The course is open daily for viewing and for special events.

The National Steeplechase Museum  is located on the grounds of the race course.  A statue of Lonesome Glory, the champion steeplechase horse in America an unprecedented five times, adorns the lawn.
