Northeast Community Park Trail

Once used for farming, this site became the community park it is today with the help of several neighborhood and conservation groups. Just over half of the site is dedicated to manicured, turf park activities, while the remainder is used for a native prairie grass exhibit. Northeast Community Park has two practice soccer and baseball/softball fields, a maintenance building with public restrooms, a two-mile walking trail, and a picnic shelter with six picnic tables. Future plans include two playgrounds, two picnic shelters, a community/nature center, a pedestrian bridge connecting the park and Linear Trail, and basketball, tennis and volleyball courts. Practice sports fields are on a first come basis. No reservations are taken for the park shelter at Northeast Community Park. Use is on a first-come, first-served basis.
