Hospital Boulders

Just north of Gadsden and less than 30 minutes from Horse Pens 40, the Hospital Boulders boasts 150-200 high-quality sandstone boulder problems and even some short traditional, sport and top-rope climb on the west brow of Lookout Mountain. The area, with its spectacular scenic views, still has potential for many more first ascents.

Directions: Turn onto Scenic Drive next to the Tuckahoe Heights sign from Noccalula Road (about 1.3 miles north of Noccalula Falls). Go 1.1 miles on Scenic Drive/McNaron Drive until you see the road sharply bending right. You should see a left fork private drive with a black gate. Open gate, which is not locked, and enters the private road, then please close gate and dummy lock it behind you. Follow the private road until you arrive at the barn, which is SCC-owned. There is a gate but it isn't locked. Park inside the gate and close it behind you. Access the boulders from there.
