Providing 34 acres of sandy beach and recreation along Hempstead Harbor, North Hempstead Beach Park (formerly Bar Beach & Hempstead Harbor Parks) features a scenic waterfront promenade, fishing pier, boat ramp, bathhouse and concession area. Courts for basketball, shuffleboard, handball and paddleball, horseshoe pits, picnic areas with barbecue grills, shelter pavilions, and a playground make it a favorite for families and groups.
