TWU - Dianne Baker Field

Pioneer Field, the home facility for the TWU softball team, is nestled between the TWU Golf Course and the University Chancellor's residence on the northeast side of the TWU campus. The lighted field, winner of the 2011 NCAA Division II Stabilizer Solutions/NFCA Field Maintenance Award and 2002 Sports Turf Managers Association Softball Field of the Year award in the College/University Division, also includes batting cages, bleacher and hillside seating, and a spacious pressbox. Pioneer Field was constructed to meet the requirements to host NCAA regional and national tournaments as well as high school playoff games.

The softball facility also includes outdoor batting cages, bleacher and hillside seating, and a press box. The grass on the field, the same type used the Texas Rangers, is a mixture of rye in the winter and Bermuda in the spring and summer. Each dugout has a private restroom, a water fountain, electricity, benches, storage shelves and closets. In 2011, a 27-foot scoreboard was added in right center field featuring inning-by-inning scoring and a state-of-the-art video messaging display.
