About John Mellencamp Pavilion

This multi-purpose 100,000 sq. ft. facility is used by several IU teams for inclement weather practices and serves as the home of the IU Field Hockey team. Named after local singer/songwriter John Mellencamp, who gave the lead gift on its construction, the pavilion features an Astro-turf surface with inlaid football markings. The regulation-size football field is seven yards from the wall on all sides. The structure's height accommodates kicking and punting as well as batting and golf practices.
