St. Joseph's University (Long Island)

The John A. Danzi Athletic Center opened in April 1997 and has provided St. Joseph’s University students, faculty and staff with many opportunities to enjoy athletic competitions, promote personal fitness and engage in recreational activities. To use the 48,250-square-foot Danzi Center, you must have a valid SJNY identification card. The facility contains a number of outstanding features, such as a 25-yard heated swimming pool, strength training room, aerobics/dance room, basketball courts, volleyball courts, elevated track (1/12 mile), state-of-the-art fitness room with 18 Cybex machines.

The Outdoor Field Complex opened in April 2012. We are located approximately one mile east of the Long Island Campus on the Sunrise Highway South Service Road. The complex is home to the Golden Eagles men’s and women’s soccer, tennis, track and field, lacrosse, softball, flag football and baseball teams. This new 24.8-acre complex is state of the art. All venues feature Musco lighting systems for night games, competitions and events. The facility contains a number of outstanding venues that are home to several of the University's NCAA Division III teams.

Danzi Stadium includes a 400-meter all-weather track (six-lane turns, eight-lane straights), long jump pits, high jump and pole vault areas, steeplechase course, synthetic turf field for soccer and lacrosse and a grandstand featuring bleachers for up to 1,500 people and a press box.

Gregg Alfano Field features a synthetic turf infield, clay pitcher’s mound, natural grass outfield that reaches 403 feet in center field (310 feet to right and 326 feet to left), bleachers for up to 300, a press box and dugouts.

Softball Stadium includes a clay infield, a natural grass outfield that reaches 210 feet to dead center and 200 feet to right and left field. There is seating for 400 spectators along with a press box and dugouts.

The field complex has six tennis courts that were constructed with a DecoTurf surface, the same material the pros play on at the U.S. Open.
