A 114-acre regional park features athletic fields bounded by wetlands on the north, and woods on the east and west, with two ponds in the center of the park. Home to Central Brevard Soccer Club, Merritt Island Senior Little League, and Merritt Island Youth Football, the athletic facilities include baseball, soccer, football, and softball fields. Tennis courts, two pavilions, a multifeatured playground, benches, and pedways offer park patrons an inviting recreational experience.

Mitchell Ellington Park

The Space Coast Sports Commission supports event organizers who host their events in Brevard County and have an emphasis on bringing competitors and fans from beyond a 75-mile range.  To support those event organizers, the Space Coast Sports Commission has a grant program with up to $25,000 available per grant.

Currently, grant recipients are hosting – half marathon, soccer tournament, 10-mile road race, softball tournament, senior softball tournament, sports festival, collegiate golf invitational, collegiate baseball team training, triathlon, surfing competition.
