The 50 acre McIntosh Trail Recreation Complex is located in the heart of Peachtree City and is the hub for many of the City’s special events throughout the year. The complex is home to the Recreation Administration headquarters, The Gathering Place senior center, a large picnic pavilion, walking trails, horseshoes, a skateboard ramp, a BMX track and the Peachtree City Dog Park. The complex is also the starting point for the Flat Creek Nature Preserve and is the home of the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater.

The William Davis BMX track is open seven days a week from dawn till dusk. The BMX Track is a great location for any bike riding and racing experience level. The track is a full service lighted facility with a beautiful park like setting. Bleachers are also available for the comfort of the crowds, as well as concessions and restrooms. Whether you are craving a casual bike ride or wanting to join or host a professional bike race, the William L. Davis BMX Track is the place to go!

Set just south of Atlanta in Fayette County, Peachtree City blends small-town charm with a design built entirely around golf carts and lakes. The city is home to the Commemorative Air Force Airbase Georgia, where visitors can see restored World War II-era aircraft like the P-51 Mustang and FG-1D Corsair up close, plus book a ride in a working warbird. Downtown along The Avenue Peachtree City offers its own draw, with shopping and dining, weekend visits to the Peachtree City Farmers Market, and easy golf cart access to the village centers that ring the town.

Outdoor recreation runs deep here. More than 100 miles of paved multi-use paths connect the city's three lakes — Peachtree, Kedron, and McIntosh — letting visitors reach the water by golf cart, bike, or on foot. Closer to the shoreline, Flat Creek Nature Area's boardwalk trail winds through quiet woods and wetlands for a shorter, still scenic walk, and Lake Kedron nearby draws anglers after largemouth bass and catfish, along with paddlers and birders. Golfers can play a round at Flat Creek Country Club, a Joe Lee-designed 27-hole layout long regarded as some of the best golf in the Atlanta area.

For something different, Line Creek Brewing Co. has been pouring fresh, flavorful craft beers in its cozy Huddleston Road taproom since 2018, when it opened as Fayette County's first brewery. The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater, known locally as "The Fred," rounds out the cultural scene with a summer concert series that's drawn acts like Gladys Knight and Foreigner to its pine-shaded, 2,500-seat stage for more than 30 years, while nearby Senoia offers walking tours of the film locations used in The Walking Dead and other productions shot around the area.

With its mix of golf cart charm, lakeside recreation, and small-screen fame, Peachtree City offers an easy home base just south of Atlanta.
