Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that doesn't use a rope & harness for protection. It's just you, your climbing shoes, and a bit of chalk for your hands. Our climbing walls are 16 feet tall, and the boulders (as the routes are called) are designated by colored climbing holds. If you fall there is soft, padded flooring to cushion your landing. 
Climbing is of course our main feature, and we have just about every angle of climbing wall you can think of. Additionally, you'll find a training area with campus boards and free weights, a lounge to relax in when you're not climbing, coffee to help refuel, and locker rooms for changing when you're done.

The Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) 2026 Volleyball Championships will be taking place at the Columbia Basin College Student Recretation Center, November 20-22. The weekend will begin with the Elite 8 teams competing in a single-elimination format, battling it out for the Championship title.

The Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) 2027 Basketball Championships will take place over two weekends at CBC's Student Recreation Center. On March 3-7, thirty-two teams will arrive in the Tri-Cities to play a single elimination tournament. The Elite Eight teams (for both men & women) will then return on March 13-14 to make a run at the NWAC Championship title.

Lawrence Scott Park is one of three sports complexes the City owns and operates and is located within minutes of shopping and restaurants.  Fields are wagon wheeled around a central concession stand and restroom facility. Upstairs official/meeting room (can be used for tournament headquarters). 

The park features 26 acres with the following park amenities:
Playground equipment located outside of complex.
- 4 lighted baseball/softball fields
- 4 tennis courts, 3 pickle ball courts and basketball court
- Three smaller picnic shelters
- 3/4 mile walking path
