This 140-acre recreation area and sporting complex was an integral venue during the 2017 Canada Summer Games. It features eight softball diamonds, one baseball diamond, six soccer pitches, a full-service canteen and an exhibition area. Along with all these summer facilities, Buhler Recreation Park can also be utilized in the winter with its cross-country ski trails and toboggan hill. The Park is well-equipped to host municipal, provincial and national championships, while the area’s nature-based design incorporates nearly 1000 trees that have been planted onsite, along with an area growing an indigenous (to the area) tall grass prairie landscape.
