The National Veterans Tournament (NVT) is the premier African diaspora soccer and cultural event in North America, bringing together veteran soccer clubs, families, professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and supporters from across the United States and Canada.
Founded to promote unity, healthy living, cultural identity, and community engagement through sports, the NVT has evolved into a major annual gathering that transcends soccer. Today, it serves as a powerful platform for networking, cultural celebration, business engagement, tourism, philanthropy, and community empowerment.
Each year, the tournament brings together 52 veteran soccer clubs and attracts more than 3,000 participants and guests, including players, families, supporters, business leaders, sponsors, and visitors from across North America, Europe, and Africa. The event features over 100 competitive matches, cultural activities, networking opportunities, community outreach initiatives, and a vibrant Business Village showcasing products, services, and organizations serving the diaspora community.
The NVT community represents a diverse and influential demographic of professionals, entrepreneurs, public servants, healthcare workers, educators, technology specialists, and business owners who maintain strong ties to their communities both in North America and abroad.
NVT2026 will be held from September 3–7, 2026, at the world-class Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona. The tournament is expected to welcome thousands of attendees for five days of competition, celebration, networking, and community engagement.
More than a sporting event, the NVT is a trusted institution that celebrates African heritage, fosters lifelong friendships, strengthens community bonds, promotes wellness, and creates opportunities for businesses and organizations to connect with one of the most dynamic and engaged diaspora communities in North America.
The National Veterans Tournament (NVT) exists to unite veteran athletes, families, and communities through sports, cultural celebration, and community engagement. We promote health, wellness, friendship, and lifelong connections while preserving our cultural heritage, empowering future generations, and creating opportunities for networking, economic growth, and social impact across the African diaspora in North America and beyond.
