PDUSA promotes the sport of Dragon Boat among para athletes and non-para communities by providing education, training, and community support. We work with athletes, coaches, and crews to start para teams, as well as provide high-level coaching for athletes striving to compete at the international level.
We host various programs throughout the continental US and Puerto Rico. They include: ● In-person training camps from 1 to 5 days in duration ● Educational workshops - in-person and virtual ● Travel grants to provide paradragons financial assistance to attend camps as well as regional, national, and international competitions.
Paradragons are athletes with a range of challenges, including physical, psychological, neurological, sensory, developmental, and intellectual. The challenges that qualify as paradragons are much broader than that used by the Paralympics.
