National Women's Martial Arts Federation

The NWMAF was founded in the 1970s to provide support, training, networking, and leadership opportunities to women and girls in the martial arts. Today’s NWMAF is committed to providing those same opportunities to women, youth, transgender and nonbinary people who have so often been marginalized in the martial arts world. Our focus includes three main pillars: Martial Arts, Empowerment Self Defense (ESD) and Healing Arts. Through advocacy and education, we aim to create community, and to promote personal and collective growth, strength, safety, and well being. We run one National conference and camp a year, and smaller regional events.
