Maryland Premier League is a U23 soccer league for U23 clubs in the DMV. It's a year round tournament for the development of youth players in our community. Clubs do play each other twice and the top 4 clubs quality for the semi-finals and Finals.
The Maryland Premier League (MDPL) is a semi-professional soccer league for U23 clubs in the DMV area. The League consists of 8 first division clubs playing all year round with a winter transfer break in December. The Maryland Premier League plays a vital role in the development of soccer within the DMV metropolitan area by providing an elite platform for over 700 players pursuing careers domestically and internationally.
The MDPL started in October 2020 with 8 invited clubs and is Maryland’s U23 premier soccer league. The league provides semi-professional opportunities for talented young players in the DMV metropolitan area. Each individual club is independent, working within the rules of soccer as defined by the US Soccer Federation and Fifa. Clubs are given the opportunity to propose new rules or amendments at the leagues AGM that takes place at the beginning of each season. Consultation is at the heart of the MDPL and ultimate league’s policy are decided at the AGM.
The Maryland Premier League was formed to develop the game of soccer while creating good sportsmanship and fair play. Our clubs are located close to one another thereby creating local rivalries.
