The Ann Arbor area is excited to host championships and annual tournaments across the region in 2026. Home to top collegiate athletic facilities and championship golf courses, Ann Arbor welcomes athletes and fans for friendly, competitive energy and lively team spirit.

That energy shows up through the growing lineup of sports-focused events. Initiatives hosted by the Ann Arbor Sports Commission, like the third annual Celebration of Girls and Women in Sports, are the perfect example.

Inspired by National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the AASC organizes this free county-wide event. This year, the celebration empowered and inspired girls and women through exciting activities and education.

Those ages 13 and under gained pro tips from college players and coaches, trained in sports clinics, and cheered on the EMU Women’s Basketball game with post-game autographs.

The event’s impact shows in numbers. The attendee list has grown each year, a reminder of how these conversations and the community within Women’s sports go far beyond the court.

And the action keeps going all year!
The AASC welcomes the annual NAIA Women’s Golf Championship, hosting for the second year at the scenic Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti with lakeside views, May 19-22, 2026.
The USGA Senior Women’s Open is coming to Ann Arbor at Barton Hills, a classic Donald Ross golf course complete with rolling hills and tree-lined fairways. August 20-23, 2026.
More upcoming events include the 2026 Big Ten Women’s Lacrosse Tournament(April 22-26, 2026) and NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Regional(May 11-13, 2026), hosted by the University of Michigan.
