Sometimes it feels like the whole Ann Arbor area is out here rocking with rowing. And the Ann Arbor Sports Commission is a big reason why.
The 2025 USRowing RowFest National Championships, held July 12–20, 2025, at Eastern Michigan University’s world-class Rowing Course on Ford Lake, was nothing short of spectacular.
With 600 volunteer spots needed to be filled for the big event, the Ann Arbor Sports Commission rose to the challenge, mobilizing an army of volunteers from the community, local sports organizations and rowing enthusiasts. The Commission’s dedication and enthusiasm ensured everything ran smoothly – and created an electric atmosphere that left participants and spectators in awe during this incredible week.
RowFest, a collaboration between the Commission, USRowing, EMU, and Ypsilanti Charter Township, didn’t just elevate the sport – it cemented the Ann Arbor area as a premier rowing destination and a place for competitors of all skill levels to learn the sport.
