Join us in welcoming Hannah as Sports Coordinator to the AASC!
“We were thrilled to bring Hannah on full time because she’s a natural problem-solver who’s always eager to learn, grow, and take things to the next level. She dives into challenges with curiosity and confidence. Plus, she can keep up with (and dish out) the jokes, an essential skill around here and proof she’s a perfect fit for the team.” – Meaghan Hughes, Director of Ann Arbor Sports Commission

Hannah shares how she landed the role and her most memorable moments so far.
How did you end up interning with the Sports Commission?
I ended up interning through the Michigan Summer Works Program. I interviewed with AASC in May of 2025, and after talking about the role and the types of events they were working on, I knew it was exactly the kind of opportunity I was looking for.
What was the first sporting event you helped with?
My first event was the AJGA Ann Arbor Preview, but my first major experience was US Rowing RowFest. It ended up being such a fun way to dive right in and get some great hands-on experience.

What has been the highlight of your new role as Sports Coordinator?
Seeing the behind-the-scenes planning and how much work goes into each event. It’s cool to be part of such an organized, passionate team, and I’ve learned a lot about communication, problem-solving, and staying flexible.
What is your favorite thing about Ann Arbor?
I love how walkable Ann Arbor is and how many great local spots there are to explore, whether it’s food, coffee, or just cool places to hang out.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I’m really thankful I’ve gotten to be part of this team, and it’s been such a great experience. I’ve learned a ton and I’m excited to keep growing and taking on new opportunities.

Hannah graduates from Eastern Michigan University in May 2026. We look forward to supporting Hannah’s journey with the Ann Arbor Sports Commission!
