Art happens here. More than 600 pieces of public art grace the 48-acre downtown Lansing campus area. One of the most prominent pieces—the “Red Ribbon in the Sky,” stands 30 feet tall and delicately flows around a stainless steel, mirror-finished rod. The sculpture is located on the edge of campus, bridging the gap between Lansing’s business district and LCC.

Lansing Community College is Michigan's third largest community college with more than 20,000 students attending each year. The college has more than 200 degree and certificate programs. Lansing Community College Stars – compete in NJCAA Division II and have nine intercollegiate sports teams including men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track & field, men’s and women’s cross country, baseball, volleyball and softball. The college hosts athletic events in the Gannon Gymnasium located on the college’s Downtown Campus.

Lansing Community College's Performing Arts Program presents over 40 music, theatre and dance productions each year. Most productions are free of charge, and are primarily held on campus in Dart Auditorium or in the Black Box Theatre in the Gannon Building. We feature a free Summer Stage Under the Stars series during June and July at the LCC outdoor amphitheatre. Our productions feature a diverse mix of students and guests artists from throughout the community, along with partners such as the Lansing Concert Band. The Performing Arts Program offer a wide variety of classes both for majors and for those wishing to enhance their performance skills personally or professionally. Founded by the Sports and Recreation Committee of the Lansing Bicentennial Commission and inaugurated July 4, 1976, the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame was established to honor our nation's first 200 years through the celebration of Mid-Michigan's athletic legacy. The Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame stands as a symbol of achievement, commemorating the collective dedication and spirit of our athletic community. See memorabilia from Lansing's greatest individual athletes and teams. The hall of fame is located inside the Lansing Center.

Among the largest in the country, Lansing's River Trail traces the banks of the Grand and Red Cedar rivers connecting comfortable parks, historic sites and urban activity centers for over 13 miles through Lansing and East Lansing. Things to see along the way include Brenke Fish Ladder, where spawning salmon and steelhead fight their way upstream during September; the Turner-Dodge House to the northwest; Potter Park Zoo to the southeast; and Louis F. Adado Riverfront Park- the home of Lansing's major festivals. Public parking is available at regular intervals along the trail. A great option to explore during down time between sports events.

Lansing River Trail

In their 94th season, the Lansing Symphony Orchestra continues to be the premier source for professional orchestral music in mid-Michigan. The LSO presents a MasterWorks, Pops and Chamber Series along with Jazz Band concerts, educational programming and special events. Performances are held at Wharton Center, Molly Grove Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, and the Robin Theatre. A great option to explore during down time between sports events.

Lansing Symphony Orchestra

The Mr. & Mrs. Bowling Tournaments are a series of four weekend bowling competitions in Michigan’s Capital City. Hosted at Royal Scot Golf & Bowl, these tournaments welcome both seasoned competitors and casual players for a fun, inclusive event.&#x20;

Mitten Kitten 2026 Slash Up XIII

Join the **Midwest Fall Brawl Lacrosse Tournament**, the premier lacrosse showcase for boys and girls teams in the Midwest. Hosted at the state-of-the-art Hope Sports Complex in Lansing, Michigan, this **October 10–11, 2026** event features high-energy competition across divisions from U10 to Varsity.&#x20;

Boys divisions play three guaranteed games on October 11, while girls divisions compete in 8v8 small-sided matches concluding by 2:00 PM on October 10, perfect for homecoming festivities.&#x20;

Midwest Fall Brawl Lacrosse Tournament

The **2nd Annual Comet Classic** is a collegiate bowling tournament hosted by The University of Olivet.  This one day event taking place at Royal Scot Golf & Bowl will feature approximately 30 teams.
