Brauer Preserve is a 226 acre nature preserve, with more than 2 miles of trails. Owned by Washtenaw County Natural Areas Preservation Program. This area protects diverse habitats, from sandy knolls to upland forests to wetlands, surrounding 85 acres of active conservation farmland. Great spot for birdwatching.

No dogs, bikes, or hunting allowed.

We want you to have your best U-Pick Garden experience. Our goal is to have the least amount of rules as possible and to encourage the creativity of each guest.

The flower farm is comprised of wide grass rows with flower beds. You are free to cut flowers wherever you want. You can walk around and inside any of the beds. You are welcome to explore. Go anywhere inside the farm’s natural sunflower barrier and cut away!

Wetlands, which make up the majority of the site, surround a small upland woodland in the southernmost portion along Liberty.

From the trailhead at the parking area, two loop trails wind through the woods. The east loop connects with a seasonal trail that takes visitors out into the wetlands and old fields in the northern areas of the preserve.

Large bur oak and hop-hornbeam trees are notable here.

Motawi Tileworks makes handcrafted tile as art pieces and for residential and commercial installations. Owner and Artistic Director Nawal Motawi began creating historically inspired tile in her garage and selling it at the local farmers market. Demand for her work grew, and in 1992 Motawi formed The Tileworks, which came to specialize in Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts and Midcentury Modern aesthetics. In addition to its own unique designs, The Tileworks is also licensed to produce art tile based on the work of Frank Lloyd Wright and Charley Harper.
