<p>Picking blueberries at a local farm is way more fun than picking up a small plastic container of blueberries in the produce section of your local grocery store.</p>
<h2>Central Florida&#8217;s Blueberry U-Pick Season</h2>
<p>Of course Florida is known as one of the world&#8217;s leading citrus fruit providers, but we also have a lot of blueberry farms. U-pick blueberry season begins in March or April (depending on weather) and there&#8217;s probably a farm near you. Find the farm&#8217;s website or Facebook page to view their schedule; some farms are open six days a week while others are open one day a week.</p>
<p><em>Weather is a major factor, and affects the overall length of the season. </em></p>
<h3>U-Pick Tips</h3>

<li>Check the weather and plan accordingly. Bring water; wear sunscreen and a hat.</li>

<p>From December 13 – 30, nightly from 6 to 10 pm you can ride through the decorated neighborhoods of Bartow in horse-drawn carriage. Prices range from $15-25 for kids and $20-50 for adults. For nine nights each December, this 55+ community opens its gates for visitors to enjoy glowing light displays, cheerful inflatables, Christmas music, and even appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus—all from the comfort of your vehicle.</p>
<p>Now in its 35th year, the display also features a special Live Nativity and choir performance on select nights (December 19–22). The event is free, and donations are welcome to help keep this beloved local tradition shining bright.</p>

<p>The Christmas Lights in downtown Lakeland are a tradition dating back more than 50 years. There isn&#8217;t an event or lighting ceremony to commemorate but locals know the lights are lit after sunset on Thanksgiving. Santa and his reindeer fly high atop the Lakeland Electric office building and a tree floating on Lake Mirror plays Christmas music. Visitors to Munn Park are greeted by large toy soldiers who stand guard over the walkways and other displays.<br />

<p>From December 5 through early January visitors can experience the magic of the Holiday’s with over 22,000 lights! Decorations will cover the Historic District, from US-17 to Lake Silver, and Central Avenue to 6th Street.</p>

Guests can enjoy this interactive spectacle in full 360-degrees, as dazzling lights dance along to holiday tunes. And Kids’ New Year’s Eve Fireworks make their return in 2024, illuminating the night sky with colorful bursts of LEGO<sup> </sup>bricks at the kid-friendly time of 8 p.m. every night from Dec. 26 to Dec. 31. <p>The annual <a href="https://visitcentralflorida.org/events/havendale-christmas-parade/">Havendale Christmas Parade</a> in Winter Haven and Auburndale is returning December 5, 2025 from 7-9pm. The route this year is planned to start at the Spring Haven Community in Winter Haven and head west to the Publix in Auburndale. The Greater Auburndale Chamber of Commerce is working to sign up groups and businesses to participate in the parade.</p>
<h3>Lakeland Christmas Parade</h3>
<p>Recognized as one of Lakeland’s largest annual events, the <a href="https://visitcentralflorida.org/events/lakeland-christmas-parade/">Lakeland Christmas Parade</a> is held annually on the first Thursday in December. This year, the parade will take place on December 4, 2025.
