About Visit Worcester County

Worcester County, located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is Maryland’s only seaside county, known for Ocean City’s clean sandy beaches, outdoor recreation, steamed crabs and the famous wild pony herd on Assateague Island State Park and National Seashore.

Worcester also has the best birding in the state, more than a dozen championship golf courses and 100 miles of marked bicycle trails on flat country roads.

Probably best known is Ocean City, Maryland’s number one premier resort with 10 miles of clean, free beaches. Assateague has been named by Dr. Beach as one of the top 5 beaches on the East Coast.

Berlin’s historic district, only 8 miles from Ocean City, boasts an Arts & Entertainment District with many unique galleries and boutiques as well as great eateries.

Snow Hill, located on the banks of the Pocomoke River, is another Arts & Entertainment District with numerous galleries and is also the location of the only canoe and kayak outfitter for the river.

The Pocomoke River State Park offers visitors to the beach a wooded, riverfront setting. Pocomoke City allows visitors a chance to explore the river aboard a cruise boat or through the newly opened Delmarva Discovery Center.
