History comes alive at the largest living history museum in New York. GCV&M invites your family to step back in time with costumed interpreters to explore the 19th-century Historic Village, including the working brewery, blacksmith, pottery, tin shop and the baby animals on the farm. GCV&M is also home to the John L. Wehle Gallery, Genesee Country Nature center, and Silver Base ball Park. Open seasonally with special events all year long. It's located in Mumford, NY, just 20 miles southwest of Rochester and 45 miles east of Buffalo.

Stokoe Farms is dedicated to sharing our farm heritage. We invite you to come out in the fall to the pumpkin patch to pick your own special pumpkin and play on our 35+ unique farm activities. Christmas is magical at Stokoe Farms as families create traditions of cutting down their premium Christmas tree, taking pictures with Santa, or visiting our live Nativity. Visit the only museum where you can ride the exhibits! Our fun train rides bring Rochester's rich railroading heritage to life. Enjoy a mile-and-a-half round trip train ride through our museum grounds. Tour the largest collection of historic trains and exhibits in New York State! All train rides depart from our restored 1909 Industry Depot, located off Route 251 West, easy to find from Exit 11 off I-390, just 20 minutes from downtown Rochester. Beware, “Spirits of the Past” is back at GCV&M for 2026! Join us for an enchanting nighttime event within the dark recesses of our 19th-century village.

Tours last approximately 75 minutes, and groups will leave the Toll House during their time window and enter the dark and spooky recesses of the Historic Village.

Before and after your tour, rest your bones at the “Spirits Lounge” or the “Fright” House Pub, where you can delight in a ghoulishly good beverage and bite to eat. (Make sure to arrive earlier than your tour time if you would like to build in time to enjoy our food and beverage offerings!)
