Come walk or run fixed time race and celebrate autumn. Racers can cover as many paved 2.06-mile out-and-back (1.03 miles one way) laps as they'd like for up to the whole 12 hours of the overnight race. Enjoy the feel of fall as the sun sets and the stars come out. Nestled along a wildlife refuge on one side and Lake Ontario State Parkway on the other, the Lake Ontario State Parkway Trail (LOSP) is paved with only a few small inclines along the way. Completely closed to automobiles, this course allows you to enjoy being out in the dark without dodging drivers.

Starting in daylight allows racers to enjoy the colors of the leaves and the waterway along the route. Hours after dark, many stars become apparent and occasionally, we even hear owls! We never cross the road, so race HQ at one end and the streetlight at Dewey at the other are the brightest lights that are on the course, making it a pretty peaceful way to pass the time. It also means racers need headlamps or flashlights!

Racers get a wooden medallion for finishing a single lap. The more laps you do, the more tokens you can collect. The top three finishers regardless of gender get hand painted rocks by Randy Rocks! Those who are on the course (not just hanging out) for at least some part of every hour get a special True Night Owl prize. All racers get an amenity kit and free raffle tickets. Racers are encouraged to bring donations for the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf.

This is a great way to challenge yourself in a laid-back environment. Many people love the chance to do really long distances without a short cutoff and some find it to be a terrific way to have a really well supported training environment with no specific race goal. We've also had folks make it a family or team affair.
