The Sandy Swimming Hole Park is located at the upper end of lower Washougal River Greenway. Facilities include restrooms, picnic tables, a beach, a boat launch for non-motorized boats, and parking. Swimming is permitted, with no lifeguard on duty.

Whispering Waters Farm is an expansive outdoor event location, stretching from the top of Woodburn Hill in Washougal to the Little Washougal River. Enjoy the laid back lifestyle of the country on 69 acres of beautiful vistas, abundant wildlife, goats, berries, hay and trees. Miles of walking paths surround the serene landscape, making for a beautiful getaway. The barn at Whispering Waters Farm offers up to 4,800 square feet of enclosed, heated space. It can easily accommodate 250 people for dinner, or 500 theater-style. Parking is available for 250 cars.

Built in partnership with the Chinook Indian Nation, Portland State University, The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and numerous other community partners and volunteers, the Cathlapotle Plankhouse serves as an education and interpretive center and is used by the Chinook Indian Nation for cultural events throughout the year. Visit the Cathlapotle Plankhouse and connect with local indigenous culture. This Living Plankhouse, based on the Chinookan village of Cathlapotle, as well as the objects inside of it, offer a tangible link to these aboriginal land stewards and provides a unique site for the interpretation of our region's natural and cultural heritage. Cathlapotle Plankhouse

The Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1965 to provide wintering habitat for the dusky subspecies of the Canada goose. Today, the Refuge preserves both habitat for wildlife, and evidence of the people who once lived here. The approximately 5,300 acres contain a lush mixture of wetlands, grasslands, riparian corridors, and forests. These habitats, combined with a mild and rainy winter climate, provide the ideal environment for many species including neotropical song birds, wintering waterfowl, and other local native species. The Carty Unit (28908 NW Main Ave) and River 'S' Unit (1071 S Hilhurst) are available for the public to visit. The Carty Unit hosts the main Refuge office, the Cathlapotle Plankhouse, the Oaks-to-Wetlands Trail, and the seasonal Carty Lake Trail. The River 'S' Unit offers the Auto Tour Route and the seasonal Kiwa Trail, as well as access to the hunt zones. Check the website for closure information before you visit!

Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge

Alderbrook Park is 63 acres, nestled in the forest with it's own private lake, pool, creek and other amenities. An outdoor destination for both public and private events, they have four covered pavilions for use, along with pedal boats, train rides, miniature golf, 18 acres of lawn and hiking trails, a pirate ship, bounce houses, and the famous Pink Lemonade fountain.

Battle Ground Lake Park is a beautiful park with a crystal-clear lake formed by volcanic upliftings and depressions in the earth. The park has 50 campsites, and day visitors can enjoy swimming, trout fishing, picnicking, hiking and boating.

Clark County built the first segment of the Chelatchie Prairie Rail-with-Trail in 2011. Primary access to this multi-purpose trail is from Battle Ground Lake State Park and NE Palmer Road. The county’s long-term plan is to provide a trail along the entire 33-mile-long railroad corridor between Vancouver (Burnt Bridge Creek Trail at Stewart Glen) and the end of the rail line at Chelatchie Prairie. Summit Grove is tucked away on five acres of private, beautifully wooded tranquil property situated just above the Lewis River near La Center, Washington. The lodge has been meticulously renovated preserving the integrity and character of the original structure, while updating the property to offer all imaginable modern-day amenities. The main hall area inside the lodge is approximately 2,300 square feet. Features include the original cedar-log walls, Douglas Fir beams and flooring, a 20-foot vaulted ceiling, and majestic rock fireplace. The room can accommodate a seated dinner for up to 170 or a standing reception up to 375 - 400.
