The ROC (Recreation Outdoor Center) is a multi-use outdoor recreational facility located on the campus of The Rec Center.

The facility is used as a covered ice rink in the winter months for hockey, open public skating, broomball and other special skating events. In the spring, it is converted to a covered, turfed field for baseball, softball, soccer and lacrosse, as well as special events. During the summer, a dry, concrete floor provides space  for roller hockey, roller derby, power hockey, pickleball and a variety of other special events from weddings to movies in the park, to graduation parties. Overlooking the ROC is a plaza ideal for additional spectator viewing.

Facility rental information
The ROC's has three different rental opportunities depending on the time of year - turf rental, dry floor rental and ice arena rental. The facility rental space measures 200 feet by 85 feet and includes bleacher seating for 450.

Next door, the ROC (Recreation Outdoor Center) is a covered outdoor facility that in winter is home to a skating rink with ample bleacher seating. Our ice so cool that the Minnesota Wild come and practice on it each year!  In spring and summer, the ROC is converted to a turf field and a dry concrete floor – perfect for practices and events.

Boasting as much as much as 15% of the city’s land, Golden Valley has over 1,000 acres of parks and open spaces with nearly 50 miles of trails. Key facilities such as Brookview Community Center, which features golf, lawn bowling, a driving range, biking and more, along with Theodore Wirth Regional Park and its host of winter and summer offerings, make Golden Valley a premier destination for both summer and winter sports activities.
