Castaic Lake is a 9,000-acre recreation park that features many favorite water and outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, jet skiing, kayak rentals, swimming and mountain biking. There are over 7 miles of trails.

Several special events are held on the trails, including 'pro' mountain bike races
The lower lagoon is 3 miles in circumference

The special event areas accommodate anywhere from 150 to 500 people at the large locations, and 50 to 75 people in the small locations. 
There are 4 large areas and 7 small picnic areas available for families or small groups. Most sites contain shade providing awnings & trees, grass, picnic tables and barbeques. Also, most sites are parking lot accessible, as well as a short distance from the shoreline of the West Side Lagoon."
