What started as a WPA project in 1922 is now a premier city park. A 1.5-mile paved walking trail rims the 80-acre lake, complete with fishing pier and boat dock. Canoes, kayaks, johnboats and pedal boats are available to rent. A clubhouse and several picnic shelters allow for group events.

We are located 15 miles west of uptown Charlotte. I-85 runs straight through Gaston County linking to cities in the Northeast and Southeast. I-77, just minutes from our eastern border, gives easy access to locations in the Midwest. I-40, less than one hour north, provides an important east/west link with coast-to-coast access. The Charlotte Douglas International Airport is only 20 minutes away.
