April is shaping up to be a strong month for tourism in the Tri-Cities, WA, with 18 conventions, tournaments, and events expected to bring nearly 20,000 visitors and generate more than $4.35 million in economic impact for the region.

Tri-Cities Hosts Another Successful NWAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship at Columbia Basin College

What a run at the 2026 NWAC Basketball Championships! Teams from across the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) returned to Columbia Basin College (CBC) in Pasco for the 2026 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships, March 4–8 and 13 & 15. For the fourth consecutive year, the Tri-Cities welcomed the Northwest Athletic Conference’s top men’s and women’s teams for one of the most anticipated events of the collegiate basketball season.

The Historic Apple Cup Returns: Tri-City Raceway Set to Host 57th Running Apple Cup Race

The Pacific Northwest’s most iconic short track race is roaring back! Tri-City Raceway kicks off its 2026 season with the 57th Running of the Apple Cup, presented by Legends Casino, April 11–12. Long celebrated as one of the premier events in regional motorsports, the Apple Cup remains a crown jewel of West Coast racing—carrying a legacy that stretches all the way back to 1967.

IRONMAN® 70.3® Washington Tri-Cities Named Best Run Course in the World in 2025 Athletes’ Choice Awards: Named Best Run Course in the World

The IRONMAN® 70.3® Washington Tri-Cities race has received international recognition in the 2025 IRONMAN® Athletes’ Choice Awards. Tri-Cities was named the Best Run Course in the world among all IRONMAN® 70.3® events. The race also ranked #3 in Overall Satisfaction and #3 for Best Swim Course in North America, based on post-race surveys from participating athletes.

USA BMX Lumberjack Nationals in Tri-Cities

The USA BMX Lumberjack Nationals brought riders, families, and fans from across the U.S. and Canada to Columbia Basin BMX. The energy you hear in this clip from Day 1 carried through all weekend long: fast racing, passionate crowds, and a true celebration of BMX.

The Incredible Volunteers of the IRONMAN 70.3 Washington Tri-Cities Race

Thank you to the amazing volunteers at the IRONMAN 70.3 Washington Tri-Cities race! The Tri-Cities community banded together and had over 1,300 volunteers sign-up for the inaugural race. IRONMAN and Visit Tri-Cities are so grateful to each and every person that filled a variety of stations and roles throughout the course of the event. Whether it was out in the water with the athletes, supporting them in transitions, or out on the streets helping direct traffic – the race couldn’t have happened without them! Volunteers are truly the lifeblood of something of this magnitude, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the volunteers’ hard work and support to see this race through to the end. The generosity and dedication was amazing – a true testimate to the spirit of athletic achievement in the Tri-Cities community!

IRONMAN 70.3 Washington Tri-Cities Race Day Recap!

Cheers to an incredible experience at the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Washington Tri-Cities race! With 2,388 total participants and over 7,500 out-of-town visitors, Tri-Cities was filled with the excitement of athletes and their family and friends throughout the entire race weekend. It was truly an inspiration to watch these athletes push the boundaries of their limits, and to see what they were capable of achieving. This event generated an estimated $7-7.5 million in economic impact for the Tri-Cities community, and had representation from 45 states and 20 countries. What an honor to host this memorable event, we can’t wait for IRONMAN 70.3 to return in September 2025!

Tri-Cities to Host World Horseshoe Pitching Championships in 2024 and 2027

The World Horseshoe Pitching Championships will be held in Tri-Cities, Washington, in both 2024 and 2027, the National Horseshoe Pitching Association announced. The World Championships will take place at the Three Rivers Campus from July 29 to August 10, 2024, and again in 2027. The Toyota Center & Arena will serve as the primary venue

The Clean and Sober Softball Association (CSSA) is once again coming to the Tri-Cities for their Prairie Dog Memorial Day Tournament. This tournament has been hosted in the Tri-Cities since 2002, and is part of a series of tournaments organized by CSSA. These tournaments bring together teams from across Washington with the goal of promoting a clean lifestyle free from drugs and alcohol. The Tri-Cities is well-known for its wineries, breweries, and distilleries – but there is an incredible amount to do here even if you don’t drink alcohol.

Greg Mitchell from the CJ Mitchell Sports Officials Academy discusses his passion and inspiration for officiating in the Tri-Cities. Athletes from all over the Pacific Northwest will be flocking to the Tri-Cities this weekend for the National Softball Association (NSA) of Washington’s Ice Breaker Girls Fastpitch Tournament, and for the 60th Annual Pasco Invitational Track and Field Event. These events are drawing a combined 4,500 players, coaches, game officials and spectators from out of town to the Tri-Cities, generating an estimated $955,000 in visitor spending for the local economy.
