WCC is a learner-centered, open-door college dedicated to student, community, and staff success. We offer a wide spectrum of community college services with an emphasis on premier technical and career educational programs. The College staff continuously learns to improve learning.

Enjoy an evening of varied musical selections by the Ypsilanti Symphony Orchestra (YSO) under the direction of Adam Riccinto. The YSO makes a unique and significant cultural contribution to the Ypsilanti community. It has achieved the vision of its early founders, providing high quality musical experiences for its audience and musicians alike.

The College Theater, located on the beautiful Washtenaw Community College campus, is a tiered-seated theater ideally suited for small to medium sized live events. The theater can seat just under 100 people and has a retractable video projection screen and stage curtains. The theater is also equipped with theatrical lighting and audio capabilities.

Gallery One is dedicated to developing and presenting exhibitions that are enjoyable as well as educational and challenging. Free and open to the public, the exhibitions are created to be thought provoking while helping to make art accessible by relating it to different aspects of life.

Almost all of the exhibitions are accompanied by related workshops and lectures from artists and qualified experts.

Gallery One at Washtenaw Community College

The area's only year-round farmers market, The Farm Market at St. Joe's is held Wednesdays from 11:00am - 1:00pm held in the main hospital lobby at Saint Josephy Mercy Hospital. Produce comes from The Farm at St. Joe's, including 2 hoophouses (aka passive solar greenhouse) for year-round production.

Quick service restaurant serving chicken and fish specialties and using fresh ingredients from local farmers' markets and has a Southern home taste. Offering entree and side specials daily. Catering and large orders are also available.

Cavanaugh Lake Park is a 2-acre park with pavilion and children's play area. There is no swimming in lake.

Other features include lakeside picnic areas, picnic shelter, running water, vault toilets, children's play area, beautiful sunsets, fishing possibilities. Cavanaugh Lake Park is not wheelchair accessible.

Parker Mill is a 28-acre park featuring walking trails, a handicap-accessible wetland boardwalk, interpretive signs, picnic areas and restrooms. The Parker Mill Grist mill, a well-preserved example of a small-scale grist mill operation that was once common in Michigan, is functional and open for public tours on Sundays in the fall.

Although the mill is its defining feature, the park offers an extensive trail network that lets visitors explore the forested banks of Fleming Creek to its confluence with the Huron River.

Creative Reuse Centers, like SCRAP, collect discarded materials from the public that can be reused and given new life. Many centers resell these items to the public for a bargain or donate them to teachers, organizations or other groups for further reuse.

A place for "creative recycling" in Ann Arbor, featuring a large assortment of unique materials that manufacturers and businesses would otherwise send to landfills.

Flat Water is a Big Bear Tournaments ice hockey tournament in Ann Arbor, Michigan, running October 2–4, 2026. Sanctioned by USA Hockey, the event welcomes 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams at B, A and AA levels. Each team is guaranteed four games, with the final game serving as a championship or consolation contest, and game periods vary by age division.

The 9th Annual 5K Domestic Violence Awareness Run/Walk is an in-person community event at Frog Island Park in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Participants can run or walk alongside friends and family while raising awareness and showing support for people affected by domestic violence. This approximately three-and-a-half-hour event offers a meaningful way for the community to come together in support of survivors.&#x20;

E-Race the Stigma with the Trinity Health Probility Ann Arbor Marathon! Supporting local mental health charities, participants run through the vibrant streets of downtown Ann Arbor, then wind their way through the panoramic University of Michigan campus. The marathon, half-marathon, and 10K courses also encompass stretches along the Huron River and Gallup Park and through Nichols Arboretum before returning to campus and downtown.

The 2026 Women in Sports: ElevateHER Summit, presented by Michigan Athletics, brings together student-athletes, alumni, community members, coaches and attendees for an evening focused on opportunity, leadership and the future of women in sports. Held October 15 at Crisler Center, the event features networking with current and former student-athletes and coaches beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a panel at 6 p.m. with Michigan alumnae and prominent sports-industry leaders including Andrea Joyce, Kate Johnson, Estee Portnoy, Casey E. Taylor and Li Li Leung. The summit offers storytelling, professional development, networking and mentorship.
