The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra (A2SO) is an American orchestra based in Ann Arbor. Founded in 1928, the A2SO plays most of its concerts at the University of Michigan's Hill Auditorium and at the Michigan Theater.

Bluffs Nature Area is 39.35 acres, located on a glacially formed ridge over North Main Street. Trails wind throughout the park and are accessible from North Main St., just across from Lakeshore St. on the southwest side of the street. The rugged trails are perfect for mountain biking and hiking.

The Huron River Water Trail is a 104-mile (167 km) inland paddling trail connecting people to the river's natural environment, its history and the communities it touches in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. From the rapids at Delhi and Dexter to the placid flat water at the entrance to Lake Erie, a variety of paddling experiences await you. For kayaking, canoeing, fishing on a fly, and other freshwater pursuits, follow the Huron River Water Trail to learn what others already know - that Huron River is a Michigan treasure worth exploring.

Argo Park & Nature Area is a long 22 acre park on the east side of the Huron River.

This recreation area contains a natural area with trails, paths connecting it to other parks along the river, and is home to the Argo Canoe Livery. The Argo Canoe Livery is a busy spot drawing crowds looking to rent canoes, kayaks, and rafts to paddle down the Huron River. The Argo Cascades, a series of nine small rapids, rock chutes and pools serving as a bypass channel to connect Argo Pond to the Huron River are a popular attraction.

The Argo Pond walk​ is a 2.2 mile walking loop around the section of river known as "Argo Pond."

Sweet Heather Anne's Bakery focuses on custom cake, cookie, and dessert orders made with locally sourced ingredients - specializing in weddings and other events. Sweet Heather Anne also takes corporate orders and teaches decorating classes during the winter.They offer options for pickup orders, with a dessert counter open on Fridays and Saturdays. The counter has small items for sale, such as layered cakes in a jar, cookies and brownies.

Bandemer Park is a natural area along the Huron River. The park is accessed off North Main at Lake Shore Drive and off Barton Drive where it meets Whitmore Lake Road.

The park features accessible trails through the main body of the park, restrooms, benches, accessible canoe dock, fishing deck, shelter, picnic areas, and grills.

Be sure to bring your frisbees with you, as Bandemer Park is the home to a disk golf course. Dirt foot paths wander throughout the site, with views of the river and other unique habitat prevalent. Bandemer is directly west across the river from Argo Park.

On Saturday, September 26th and Sunday September 27th, A2 JAZZ FEST will be back and lifting up A2 Jazz in their most exciting community event ever. In TOTALLY FREE community celebration of their 10th anniversary, they will be working with Ann Arbor native and video artist David Olson to create a multimedia showcase to celebrate 10 amazing years of the A2 JAZZ FEST and the power of gathering the community around music.   
  
Great friend of the A2 JAZZ FEST, Tariq Gardner, will be bringing his group Evening Star who has recently been hosting a monthly “Come One, Come All Community Sing” in Detroit. Evening Star frontman Cole Ward, a professional choir director, will engage listeners in a special opportunity to participate in this year’s A2 JAZZ FEST as musicians.   
  
On Saturday, they are excited to take over all three floors of Ann Arbor’s stylish Rabbit Hole with art, music, student workshops and of course, JAZZ! And on Sunday we’ll be at the beautiful and intimate Raven’s Club for three more sets of great music.  
  
The 2026 A2 JAZZ FEST will also feature our incredible Outreach Education Stage with another Ann Arbor native, Professor of Jazz at the renowned Jacobs School of Music, band leader and highly sought after sideman, Sean Dobbins (Registration open soon!)

A2 JAZZ FEST

Flat Water is a Big Bear Tournaments ice hockey tournament in Ann Arbor, Michigan, running October 2–4, 2026. Sanctioned by USA Hockey, the event welcomes 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams at B, A and AA levels. Each team is guaranteed four games, with the final game serving as a championship or consolation contest, and game periods vary by age division.

The 9th Annual 5K Domestic Violence Awareness Run/Walk is an in-person community event at Frog Island Park in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Participants can run or walk alongside friends and family while raising awareness and showing support for people affected by domestic violence. This approximately three-and-a-half-hour event offers a meaningful way for the community to come together in support of survivors.&#x20;

E-Race the Stigma with the Trinity Health Probility Ann Arbor Marathon! Supporting local mental health charities, participants run through the vibrant streets of downtown Ann Arbor, then wind their way through the panoramic University of Michigan campus. The marathon, half-marathon, and 10K courses also encompass stretches along the Huron River and Gallup Park and through Nichols Arboretum before returning to campus and downtown.

The 2026 Women in Sports: ElevateHER Summit, presented by Michigan Athletics, brings together student-athletes, alumni, community members, coaches and attendees for an evening focused on opportunity, leadership and the future of women in sports. Held October 15 at Crisler Center, the event features networking with current and former student-athletes and coaches beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a panel at 6 p.m. with Michigan alumnae and prominent sports-industry leaders including Andrea Joyce, Kate Johnson, Estee Portnoy, Casey E. Taylor and Li Li Leung. The summit offers storytelling, professional development, networking and mentorship.
