Lantern Walk

As the seasons change and autumn settles in, join us for a cozy evening celebration designed for families with kids ages 9 and up. Together, we’ll create our own lanterns decorated in rich seasonal colors. Once the sun sets, we’ll use our handmade lanterns to light the path as we take a calm, guided walk through the woods after dark. This peaceful nighttime experience encourages curiosity, reflection, and connection with nature. All lantern supplies will be provided.

What to Expect:
This program starts indoors, ends outside. The time, approximately 45 minutes, will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. Expect to walk .75 miles. We will conclude at the Hudson Mills Activity Center. The planned path surface is dirt and gravel. The planned path grade is slightly hilly and not suitable for adaptative walking equipment. No prior experience necessary. Time includes personal or group instruction. For maximum enjoyment, some of our program time will require participants to patiently remain quiet and listen closely. Group discussion will be encouraged. A group interactive activity or game with instructions will be involved.

Ages: 9 and up. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
