With a historic river meandering through its 1,536 acres, Hudson Mills Metropark is located on North Territorial Road, twelve miles northwest of Ann Arbor. The gentle rapids area is one of the river’s most picturesque spots, which is also frequented by bass anglers and picnickers. The park’s trails give easy access to the marriage of serene woods and waters.

The park has an 18-hole golf course, disc golf courses, picnic areas, swings and slides, softball diamonds, hike-bike trail, nature trails, river fishing, basketball courts, and 3 miles of double-tracked groom natural trails for cross country and skiing. The activity center is open every day with a heated lounge, restrooms, and snacks. Please call or check the website for hours and conditions.

Known for its back-to-back par 5s and speedy greens, this 6560 yard, par 71, course is sure to test golfers of all skill levels. Enjoy the abundant wildlife as you play this tree lined, scenic course located just north of Ann Arbor.

The Michigan Sailing Club provides a sailing facility to University of Michigan students, faculty, staff, alumni, the Michigan Sailing Team, and the community. The club is housed at a waterfront clubhouse on Baseline Lake in Dexter. Beginner lessons are provided, as well as skills clinics and races for experienced sailors.

Jenny's Farm Stand is known for their donuts and specialty food products. Activities include a petting zoo, hay maze, hay rides and pony rides. In spring and summer seasons, enjoy events and activities planned throughout. With its diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife and endless recreational opportunities, Pinckney Recreation Area is a must-visit destination for campers, mountain bikers, anglers and other recreation enthusiasts. Nestled amidst rolling hills and serene lakes, the landscape features a terminal moraine area formed during the last glaciation period.

Pinckney is known for its extensive trail system and chain of excellent fishing lakes. More than 40 miles of multi-use trail take visitors through lush forests and along sparkling lakes. For the ultimate backcountry experience, pitch a tent at one of the remote campsites scattered throughout the area.

The 11,00-acre park is a large park and fairly spread out. The park features two main day-use areas: Silver Lake and Halfmoon Lake units, where visitor enjoy picnicking, swimming, boating and relaxing by the water.

Flat Water is a Big Bear Tournaments ice hockey tournament in Ann Arbor, Michigan, running October 2–4, 2026. Sanctioned by USA Hockey, the event welcomes 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams at B, A and AA levels. Each team is guaranteed four games, with the final game serving as a championship or consolation contest, and game periods vary by age division.

The 9th Annual 5K Domestic Violence Awareness Run/Walk is an in-person community event at Frog Island Park in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Participants can run or walk alongside friends and family while raising awareness and showing support for people affected by domestic violence. Supporting local mental health charities, participants run through the vibrant streets of downtown Ann Arbor, then wind their way through the panoramic University of Michigan campus. The marathon, half-marathon, and 10K courses also encompass stretches along the Huron River and Gallup Park and through Nichols Arboretum before returning to campus and downtown.

The 2026 Women in Sports: ElevateHER Summit, presented by Michigan Athletics, brings together student-athletes, alumni, community members, coaches and attendees for an evening focused on opportunity, leadership and the future of women in sports. Held October 15 at Crisler Center, the event features networking with current and former student-athletes and coaches beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a panel at 6 p.m. with Michigan alumnae and prominent sports-industry leaders including Andrea Joyce, Kate Johnson, Estee Portnoy, Casey E. Taylor and Li Li Leung. The summit offers storytelling, professional development, networking and mentorship.
