This past week and weekend, Paddles at the Plex unfolded at the Opelika Pickleball Facility, showcasing top-tier action in the heart of our community.

The Spring Villa Archery Park and Disc Golf Course stands as a unique facility for sports enthusiast. This park has not only a new archery facility but two new disc golf courses as well. Whether seeking the thrill of archery or the challenge of disc golf, Spring Villa Park promises an unforgettable experience for all who visit.

From February 19th to 24th, Auburn-Opelika Tourism hosted the SEC Swim and Dive Championship at the James E. Martin Aquarium. The event was a resounding success, marked by the breaking of multiple SEC records and a packed aquarium every day of the event.

🎾 Home to the Auburn Tennis Team and maintained jointly by the city and university, our state-of-the-art facility features 16 clay courts (including a stadium court), 12 outdoor hard courts, and six indoor courts, making it ideal for tournaments of all sizes.

This weekend in Auburn-Opelika, the Go Nuts Bike Racing event at Chewacla State Park featured thrilling races with over 30 categories. Simultaneously, U.S. Masters Swimming hosted the 2024 Southeast Zone SCY Championships, attracting 150+ swimmers. The Chains on the Plains Disc Golf Tournament saw Auburn University Disc Golf Club’s success, with Mississippi State clinching the championship.

The recently unveiled improvements to the Wire Road Soccer Complex marks a transformative milestone in Auburn’s recreational landscape.

The courts, kept in tip-top shape, set the stage for epic showdowns, and create the ultimate backdrop for unforgettable sporting experiences. The facility has 24 covered courts that are individually fenced, fit all pickleball regulations and have LED lighting. It’s not just about high-stakes competition;it’s about embracing the joy of the game in a setting that effortlessly exceeds expectations.

Riders travelled from all over the country travelled to compete for a chance at the podium! We could not have done it without our local partners and great community volunteers who helped make this race run smoothly

The race is taking place at Chewacla State Park where riders will take part in almost 40 miles of mountain biking competition.

The Jr. Boy’s World Series has concluded here in Opelika, AL with Hattiesburg, Mississippi outlasting the 11 other teams to claim the title. 

The 67th Jr. Boy’s World Series will take place July 21st-26th at West Ridge Park in Opelika, Alabama. Hosted by the city of Opelika Parks and Recreation, and Auburn-Opelika Tourism.

The event was produced in collaboration with key partners including Auburn-Opelika Tourism, the University of Auburn, the City of Auburn, Playfly Sports Properties/Auburn Sports Properties, and Adams Beverages.
