Schultz Outfitters operates a fly shop located in Ypsilanti's historic Depot Town on the banks of the Huron River. The store stocks the fly fishing gear you need for a successful day on the water – whether near or far. In addition to gear, they also carry one of the most comprehensive inventory of fly tying supplies in Michigan. The shop also serves as the hub for educational programs, including casting lessons, workshops, and classes. Schultz Outfitters also offers fly tying instruction for all skill levels.

734 Brewing Company was started by three locals who grew up in the quirky town of Ypsilanti. Proud to be from Ypsi, this group wants their beer to showcase what it means to be from such a great place. The Ypsilanti Freighthouse is a city-owned structure managed by the City of Ypsilanti, and formerly managed by the Friends of the Ypsilanti Freighthouse (FOYF). The Freighthouse can be rented out as a venue space for weddings, community events, and other occasions. Rentals include use of facility tables, chairs, and access to more resources depending on your preferred rental package.

The annual Michigan Summer Beer Festival is an outdoor, two day event held in Ypsilanti’s Historic Depot Town and sponsored by the Michigan Brewer’s Guild. The event allows visitors to sample 100 Michigan brewers offering over 1,000 different beer samples.

Also at this year’s Fall Festival, we’re excited to invite our community to participate in the Interdependence Relay!   
  
We’re honored to be the official Michigan host for the Interdependence Relay, a year-long series of 50 community gatherings in 50 states. The relay is a celebration of all the ways that neighbors across the country are turning towards each other in a moment when so many forces in our lives make connection and belonging difficult. The relay began in April in Washington State and will finish in the spring of 2027 in Maine. You can learn more or follow along on the relay’s progress at jointherelay.org.

Ypsi Co-op Fall Festival

Flat Water is a Big Bear Tournaments ice hockey tournament in Ann Arbor, Michigan, running October 2–4, 2026. Sanctioned by USA Hockey, the event welcomes 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams at B, A and AA levels. Each team is guaranteed four games, with the final game serving as a championship or consolation contest, and game periods vary by age division.

The 9th Annual 5K Domestic Violence Awareness Run/Walk is an in-person community event at Frog Island Park in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Participants can run or walk alongside friends and family while raising awareness and showing support for people affected by domestic violence. This approximately three-and-a-half-hour event offers a meaningful way for the community to come together in support of survivors.&#x20;

E-Race the Stigma with the Trinity Health Probility Ann Arbor Marathon! Supporting local mental health charities, participants run through the vibrant streets of downtown Ann Arbor, then wind their way through the panoramic University of Michigan campus. The marathon, half-marathon, and 10K courses also encompass stretches along the Huron River and Gallup Park and through Nichols Arboretum before returning to campus and downtown.

The 2026 Women in Sports: ElevateHER Summit, presented by Michigan Athletics, brings together student-athletes, alumni, community members, coaches and attendees for an evening focused on opportunity, leadership and the future of women in sports. Held October 15 at Crisler Center, the event features networking with current and former student-athletes and coaches beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a panel at 6 p.m. with Michigan alumnae and prominent sports-industry leaders including Andrea Joyce, Kate Johnson, Estee Portnoy, Casey E. Taylor and Li Li Leung. The summit offers storytelling, professional development, networking and mentorship.
